Practice Lawyers

GLS provide their services through several experienced lawyers, whose brief resumes appear below. Sabah Mohammed Ali Mahmoud 

A Middle Eastern lawyer with extensive legal experience in Iraq and the UAE.  He graduated in 1958, with a lic en droit, Law College in  Baghdad and awarded London University’s Post Graduate Diploma in International Economic Law in 1962.  He trained and practised law in Baghdad at his fathers legal practice, was appointed legal advisor to Iraq National Oil Company, seconded to the Legal Department of OPEC in Vienna and held positions dealing with international trade and economic cooperation.  Established a private legal practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE in association with British and US law firms and was a partner in a practice in Dubai, UAE.  In 1984 he established his practice GLS consultants in Middle East Law in London.  He is also the author of “the UAE Company Law and Practice” published in London.  

Dr Ahmed Mahmmud Ajaj 

Another lawyer of Middle Eastern origin, graduated with a law degree from the Lebanese University, Tripoli in 1983. Was awarded his LLM degree in International Development Law in 1988 and his Ph.D in International Law from Edinburgh University in 1991.  He has practised as a member of the Lebanese Bar in Tripoli and in London as a consultant in Middle East Law especially Lebanese and Syrian Law.  He has written articles on Shariah and is the author of “the Implementation of Foreign Judgements in Lebanon” and “the Humanitarian Intervention in International Law”, he also as a co/author published the “Lawful and Unlawful Gain in Islamic Law”.

Dr Said Al Ameria

PhD. International Law with 22 years experience as the Senior Legal Advisor of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). Dr Said Al Ameria has extensive experience in Arbitration and other aspects of commercial law. He now practices as a consultant in Middle East Law to GLS, from his base in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
